Last March, we traveled to Boston to attend the first mandatory event of the year: the 34th edition of the Seafood Expo North America.
This fair is the most important in the Americas in seafood and one of the best scenarios to show the world what we do. Ditusa, a representative company of Discefa products in America, was actively involved in our stand, and as usual, stood out for its festive atmosphere and its gastronomic delights.
Discefa: a different stand
At the stand of Discefa, those attending the fair were able to taste our products first-hand, prepared in delicious recipes prepared by our prodigious chef on site. And nothing is better than a good Galician wine to accompany the great flavor of octopus, therefore, we selected some of our favorites for a round snack.
And the fact is that the value of attending the Seafood Expo goes far beyond the merely transactional. As commented from the organization of the event, this is a unique opportunity “for the influencers of the industry to connect in person on topics ranging from consumer trends to best business practices and public policy considerations.”
Much more than a trade fair
The uniqueness of the Seafood Expo North America among other fairs is in its special events. The event included more than 25 sessions of conferences, in which we could learn about new topics, as well as the regulations that affect the world of the sea and discover new trends in the industry. In addition, there were master classes, demonstrations of chefs and even a presentation of Awards of Excellence for Seafood. Of course, the commercial work also had its place in the event. The commercial team of Ditusa was able to communicate with other companies in the sector to exchange opinions and points of view, as well as being in contact with potential clients, including professionals from the HORECA channel, retail stores or distributors.
Assists success
The venue chosen to host the event was, once again, was the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, a space of more than 20,000 m2 in which more than 22,000 attendees and 1,341 exhibitors gathered. Thus, the Seafood Expo North America exceeded all expectations again, breaking the figures of the last edition and consolidating as one of the leading trade fairs in the sector.
Now we have to wait until next year to relive the experience. Meanwhile, we will be preparing ourselves for the next big event: The Global Seafood Expo 2018, which starts tomorrow in Brussels and where more than 30,000 attendees will meet. We will keep you up do date!
